<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check the operation of an earth-leakage circuit breaker when charging an electric vehicle. SOLUTION: An earth-leakage circuit breaker 11 is provided between an electric vehicle 100 and a wall socket of an external AC power supply. The earth-leakage circuit breaker 11 is provided with a Hall sensor 9 for detecting a leak, a detecting circuit 13 and an earth-leakage relay 10. Also, an leak testing relay 7 and a leak resistance 8 are provided for short-circuiting a charging circuit forcibly prior to charging. At the time of charging, the leak testing relay 7 is closed to short-circuit the charging circuit forcibly and whether the earth-leakage relay 10 breaks or not is checked. After making sure that the earth-leakage relay 10 is opened, a charging relay 6 is closed to start charging.</p> |
