<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistor which is capable of operating highly reliably, even under such harsh operating conditions under which thermal amplitude is applied to a resistor for a long period, the resistor is corroded, and so on, while the resistor maintains a superior electrical characteristics, when the resistor is used for a high-density wiring circuit. SOLUTION: A pair of upper electrode layers 12 which are connected to a resistance layer 14 is formed from the side sections of the upper surface of a substrate 11 to the side faces of the substrate 11 through the use of a gold-based material (gold-based paste) mixed with glass frit, which has high adhesion with respect to a substrate 11 and is capable of resisting thermal stresses and corrosive environments. It is desirable to adjust the mixing ratio of the glass frit in the gold-based paste to 10-30 vol.% and the thickness of each upper electrode layer 12 to 5-15μm.</p> |
