<p>A dynamic system controller apparatus includes a controller in a portable housing having an external sensor input and an output for control of the dynamic system. The control operations of the controller include gain values which are adjustable responsive to manually configurable parameter select input such as a DIP (Dual In-line Package) switch. The controller may therefore be readily, manually configured to the dynamic system, such as a seat suspension system, with which it is to be utilized. For a seat suspension damper system, a different set of gain values may be provided for different model seats. The controller may, therefore, be readily installed into existing systems without requiring reprogramming and the associated greater equipment costs of reprogramming to adjust controller performance. The DIP switch is preferably located within the controller housing and set at the time of installation. A mode control input may also be provided with a plurality of states which are selectable by a user based on user preferences. Multi-rate processing is provided to allow the use of lower cost hardware in the dynamic system controller apparatus while maintaining system performance.</p> |
