<p>An operation detector (10) includes a displacement sensor (44) that detects abnormal condition from vibrations due to excessive cutting resistance or chattering of a cutting tool (18). The sensor (44) includes a coil (46) fixed to an adaptor (40), and a measuring core (50) is provided in retractive manner along a guide (48) for the coil (46). The measuring core (50) is provided on a contact part (52), which is in contact with an inner wall (56) of a movable part (28). The simplified configuration allows the operation of a machine tool to be detected automatically and accurately.</p> |
