In a printing machine, at least one cylinder can be positioned selectively by the device. The cylinder (7) is located rotatably in a support (6), with which it forms a unit (50) adjustable in different positions. A tractive gear (25-28) adjusts the cylinder or unit in the different positions (54,55), the unit (50) being held suspended from the tractive device (25). The tractive gear is a chain gear, and the one end of the tractive device is connected with the support by a spring (20). The tractive device is guided by two wheels (26,28). The cylinder applies a coating on a printed material.
