<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film having few larger surface protrusions and excellent transparency, thermal dimensional stability, and productivity, and widely applicable to various uses such as magnetic tapes, thermal transfer ribbons, thermal stencil printing plates, and capacitors, which film comprises a polyester and a polyetherimide. SOLUTION: Provided is a polyester film comprising a polyester (A) and a polyetherimide (B) and having a single glass transition temperature, wherein the content of larger surface protrusions having a protrusion height of at least 0.5μm is below 30 protrusions/100 cm2. This film is used to produce a high- density magnetic recording medium desirable for use in data storage and digital video. It is desirable that the polyester (A) is a polyester based on ethylene terephthalate.</p> |
