METHOD FOR REMOVING METAL IN DRAINAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently removing metals in drainage produced by wet combustion or wet oxidation treatment of waste liquid produced in the production process of acrylic acid.

SOLUTION: In the method for removing metals in the drainage produced by wet combustion or wet oxidation treatment of at least a part of the waste liquid produced in the manufacture process of acrylic acid including steps of producing the acrylic acid by catalytic vapor phase oxidation of propane, propylene and/or acrolein and of purifying the acrylic acid by distillation, the method includes the following processes (a) to (c). They are: (a) a process of removing the solid content in the drainage; (b) a process of removing carbonate ions and carbonates from the treated liquid obtained in the process (a); and (c) a process of removing metals from the treated liquid obtained in the process (b).
