The turbine has corrugated vanes (12) of triangular cross section, mounted on a horizontal shaft (1) so that troughs are formed between adjacent vanes to trap the wind. The vanes are positioned so that those above the shaft receive the force of the wind, while the vanes below the shaft are shielded by a fixed aerodynamic screen to neutralize the effect of the wind. The wind impinges on the upper vanes after passing through a slightly tapering funnel to concentrate it, while a movable shell, operated by a pulley and cable mechanism, allows the turbine speed to be controlled.
