PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counterweight structure for a construction machine, which ensures the strength of a necessary portion thereof without increasing the thickness of the entire backplate. SOLUTION: In the counterweight structure of the construction machine, which is mounted on a rear end of an upper revolving body, the counterweight is shaped into a box body in which a filler is filled, and it is provided with downward recessed mounting seats at its lower position, for mounting the counterweight on frames extending in a longitudinal direction with respect to the upper revolving body. Then, reinforcing members are connected to the backplate of the counterweight, which is located on a center side of the upper revolving body, at locations on the periphery of respective joint portions between the backplate and the mounting seats.
