PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maraging steel strip which has low Ti and Al concentrations in the surface, and has little surface oxidation, and a production method therefor. SOLUTION: The maraging steel strip has a composition containing, by mass, 0.1 to 2.0% Ti or 0.05 to 2.0% Al, and in which the content of Ti which has substantially been made into oxide in the measurement of the depth of 3 nm based on SiO2 from the outermost surface is <=10 atomic %, and the content of Al is <=5 atomic %. In the production method for the maraging steel strip, in the process of a working stage where cold rolling and solid solution treatment are repeated for one or more times, the physical removal of the surface is performed for one or more times on and after the first solid solution treatment.
