PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery, capable of providing high discharge capacity and having superior charge- discharge cycle characteristic, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery and its manufacturing method is characterized, in that conducive metal foil 11 such as copper foil or copper alloy foil having a surface roughness Ra of 0.2μm or more is used as collector, and the negative electrode is formed by sintering a mixture of active material particles 12 containing silicon and/or silicon alloy with conducive metal powder 13 of copper or copper alloy on the surface of the collector 11, in a non-oxidative atmosphere. |
