PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide thermostat assembling method by which working efficiency of an inserting process of a C-type snap ring for the slide thermostat is improved, the inserting work can safely be done and further inspection accuracy can be improved by improving efficiency of an inspection process. SOLUTION: The slide thermostat assembling method comprises the step of a wax case process S1 for loading wax 112 into a wax case 111, the step of a case guide assembling process S2 for assembling a piston to a guide portion 108, the step of an element assembling process S3 for making an element 110 by fixing the wax case 111 and the guide portion 108, the step of a C-type snap ring assembling process S4 for completing a thermostat 100 by assembling a spring 105 and a C-type snap ring 115 through inserting the element 110 into a valve body 101, and the step of an inspection process S5 for classifying the completed thermostats into non-defective products and defective products by automatically inspecting the completed thermostats.
