<p>An optical fiber connector used for connecting polarization storage type optical fibers, comprising a housing (4) having a housing body (5) and an auxiliary housing (6), a ferrule (7), a compression spring (8), and a rotation restricting and sliding mechanism having a stop key member, wherein the ferrule (7) and the optical fibers are fitted, slidably in axial direction, to the auxiliary housing (6) through the rotation restricting and sliding mechanism, a slit (21) is formed in the tubular part (15) of the housing body (5), a rotation restricting projection (25) engaged with the slit (21) is formed on the insert tube part (22) of the auxiliary housing (6) and engaged with the slit (21) to prevent the auxiliary housing (6) from being rotated relative to the housing body (5), and at the time of assembly, the adhesive part of the rotation restricting and sliding mechanism is fixed after the ferrule (7) is rotated to adjust the rotational phases of the ferrule and the optical fibers so that the major axis of the optical fibers faces a reference direction.</p> |
