PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to understand content, and to display an electronic program guide that can be seen easily. SOLUTION: A television broadcasting/receiving apparatus comprises an acquisition means for acquiring program-related information including a channel, program time, and a program name based on information, or the like via digital broadcasting, analog broadcasting, and a network; a creation means for creating the electronic program guide from the acquired program-related information; a detection means for detecting a specified character or character string from character string information contained in the program-related information when the electronic program guide is created; and a display means for partially cutting the character string information for display, based on the detection of the specified character or character string. The character string information contained in the program-related information is displayed by partially cutting the character string information of a program name with the program name as an object.
