METHOD OF FABRICATING SUBSTRATE IN LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

A method of manufacturing a substrate of an LCD is provided to significantly reduce a procedure for substrate manufacturing by performing a slit forming process of a transparent conductive layer and a spacer forming process using a single mask. A transparent conductive layer(40) is deposited on a substrate(10). A photoresist layer(75) is formed on the transparent conductive layer. The photoresist layer is patterned to form an opening formed by removing a spacer on which the photoresist layer remains and the photoresist layer, and a non-opening formed by removing the photoresist layer to a predetermined thickness. The transparent conductive layer exposed by the opening is etched to form a slit in the transparent conductive layer. The non-opening is removed to expose the transparent conductive layer under the non-opening, and a portion of the spacer is removed to form a spacer.
