MOBILE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND ITS DRIVING METHOD

A portable LCD and a method for driving the same are provided to save the unnecessary consumption of power and prevent the error operation of devices, by simultaneously operating a driver and a backlight when a power switch is turned on. A body has key pads for inputting data to be realized on an LCD panel, wherein the key pads include a power button. A battery(40) is detachable to the body, wherein the battery supplies an electric power to the body. A backlight(30) irradiates the LCD panel with a light. A backlight driver(60) activates the LCD panel and the backlight simultaneously by synchronizing with selection of the power button. The backlight driver includes a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal generator(20).
