PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a large amount of data even with a small memory capacity by increasing the efficiency of utilizing memory space without causing delay in processes related to data storage. SOLUTION: A memory management apparatus 100 for managing the storage or reading of data with respect to a memory 110 includes: a cell length number counting part 122 for counting the number of cell lengths of data stored in the memory; an empty cell group detecting part 124 for detecting, based on empty information showing the stored status of cells associated with each cell in the memory, a group of empty cells where cells are empty in succession for the cell length or more, with adjacent cells occupied; a data storage part 126 for storing data in the group of empty cells detected; and an empty information updating part 128 for updating the empty information of each cell in which data are stored.
