A mobile terminal having a study function and a study method using the same are provided to improve the effectiveness of study by driving a study program, stored in a memory, through voice recognition so that a user can study. A mobile terminal(200) having a study function comprises a display part(210), a memory(260), a control part(220), a microphone(242), a speaker(244), and a voice processing part(240). The display part displays a picture for a thing. The memory stores a plurality of pictures for the thing. The control part displays one of the stored pictures through the display part, outputs an answer request message for the displayed picture, receives compares a user's voice answer signal received for the displayed picture and the outputted answer request message, and judges whether the received voice answer signal is the correct answer. The microphone receives the voice answer signal. The speaker outputs the answer request message. The voice processing part transfers the voice answer signal, inputted through from the microphone, to the control part. Also the voice processing part transfers the answer request message to the speaker.
