A radio device (1), that performs time division duplexing or half frequency duplexing and has transmission output amplifiers (41, 42, 43) that accept a transmission radio-frequency signal and amplify the same, comprises an operating state switching portion (5) that switches the operating state of the radio device (1) between transmission operation and non-transmission operation; and a gain modification portion (Q7, Q71, Q72, Q73, 54) that lowers the gain of the transmission output amplifiers during non-transmission operation, in accordance with a switching signal from the operating state switching portion (5).
