PURPOSE:To prevent the sticking of dust, etc., to an objective lens by making a cover member cover the objective lens by a stopper fixed and arranged in the main body of a device when an optical pick-up is retreated to a stand-by position at the time of a non-operation and without making the scale of the device large. CONSTITUTION:Information are recorded and reproduced on an optical disk placed on a table 12 rotated by a spindle motor 11 by irradiating the optical disk with a semiconductor laser beam by an optical pick-up(PU) 13. At the time of the non-operation, the PU13 is retreated to the stand-by position of the inner peripheral side of the optical disk by a transfer motor 14 and a transfer gear 15. At this time, the cover member 16 rotates to right direction while resisting to the pressing force of a spring 17 by abutting the prolonged part 16a of the member 16 with a stopper 18 and covers the opening part of the cover of the PU13 and covers the objective lens 13a. Thus, the sticking of dust, etc., to the lens 13a is prevented and the reliability of a recording and reproducing is increased without making the scale of the whole device large. |
