The safety device has a transmission unit (20), fixed at a door leaf for light transmission (51,52,53) into a monitoring area (54) in a surrounding area of the door leaf for monitoring a door. A receiver unit (30) is provided, for receiving of reflected and scattered light from the monitoring area. An acceleration sensor is arranged at the door leaf (12) for determining the acceleration of the door leaf, which is operationally connected with a control unit and evaluation unit (80). The control unit and evaluation unit can change the monitoring area depending on the position information. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring an automatic door, particularly an automatic rotary double door. |
