TRANSPOSON FUNCTIONAL IN MAMMAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new transposon which is functional in a mammal, and to provide a method for modifying the gene of the mammal with the transposon, and the same.

SOLUTION: Tol2 transposase encoded in Tol2 transposon found in killifish, and Tol2 transposon lacking the transposase are subjected to a cotransfection to a mammal cell to obtain the gene-modified mammal cell wherein the Tol2 transposon is transferred to the chromosome.
