The present invention basically relates to the sector of air safety, with particular reference to the use of aircraft operating from aerodromes, airfields, and minor airports, and with reference to the aspects of security and safety. Among other things, it envisages an on-board electronic apparatus for air-traffic surveillance with a high degree of protection to inhibit the non-authorized use of aircraft, said apparatus comprising, in combination: a PC tablet or other similar processing apparatus equipped with a display; a satellite data and voice communication device; a device of an FLARM type; an ADS-B receiver; a transponder; a GPS device; an electronic control unit for processing the data provided by the on-board sensors for navigation and operation of the engine, said electronic control unit being known by the commercial name of BlueBox®; and means of connection of the PC tablet with the other devices listed above; there being further included means for biometric recognition of the identity of the pilot.
