<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating a waste gas by which particulate pollutant such as unburned carbon is burned to be made harmless, remaining suspended materials such as the unburned carbon or dust are removed and the concentration of gaseous pollutant such as nitrogen oxides in the waste gas discharged to atmospheric air is decreased and to provide an and apparatus for treating the waste gas. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating the waste gas includes hollow members 4a, 4b to which the waste gas is supplied, a plasma generation means 5 for generating plasma toward the inner circumferential direction of the hollow member 4a in the waste gas, a resistance heating means 6 arranged inside the hollow member 4b in the rear flow side of the plasma generation means 5 and used for heating the plasma treated waste gas, and a collecting means 7 arranged inside the hollow member 4b and used for collecting the suspended materials in the heated waste gas by passing the heated waste gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
