Embodiments of the present invention provide a protective case, a terminal, and a method for enabling a terminal to be on standby. The protective case of the present invention comprises a metal sheet and a wire; the metal sheet is located on the surface of the protective case close to a touch screen of a terminal; the metal sheet is connected to the wire, the wire is connected to a conductive interface of the terminal, and the conductive interface of the terminal is connected to a ground end of the terminal; the metal sheet is used for, when the distance from a capacitor on the touch screen at a position corresponding to the metal sheet is smaller than a preset distance, generating a displacement current with the capacitor, the capacitance of the capacitor being changed through the displacement current, so that a touch processor of the touch screen detects the capacitance of the capacitor and sends a standby request to an AP of the terminal, the standby request being used for instructing the AP to enable the terminal to be on standby. The embodiments of the present invention can improve space utilization rate of the terminal. |
