PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means of suppressing consumption of a recording agent in a case where printing is performed on a printing medium having a difference in size between a mount part and a label part.SOLUTION: An image formation device which forms an image on a medium comprises: medium conveyance means which conveys a medium having a mount part and a label part; medium reading means which is provided movably in the main scanning direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the medium in the conveyance path for conveying the medium and reads the medium; reading control means which detects the width of the label part on the basis of the result of reading the medium while moving the medium reading means; and image formation means which forms an image on the inner side of the width of the label part detected by the reading control means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
