<p>This invention is concerned with dry liquid concentrates of hydrated alumina, that is, aluminum trihydrate, coated with a substantial amount of a silane containing three hydrolyzable groups bonded to a silicon atom thereof and containing at least one monovalent group which contains a polyalkylene oxide moiety therein, and/or hydrolyzates of such silanes and/or condensates of such hydrolyzates. Such treated hydrated alumina concentrate are useful in the treatment of alumina trihydrate particles to enhance their usefulness in reinforced plastic compositions and in coatings.</p> |
