PURPOSE:To execute welding with one unit of welding machine and to improve working efficiency by disposing laterally symmetrically rollers for profiling a vertical plate before and behind a traveling carriage and providing a welding torch onto the carriage in such a manner that the torch can be swiveled and positioned laterally symmetrically. CONSTITUTION:The traveling carriage 1 is imposed on the bottom plate of a structure to be welded and is so set that the rollers 4, 6 for profiling the verticaly plate before and behind one side thereof contacts with the vertical plate and so that the carriage can be moved always along the bottom plate by the magnetic attraction force of a device for profiling the bottom plate. A welding wire 17 past the torch 8 is disposed in the position suitable for fillet welding and the carriage 1 is directed forward so as to contact successively diagonally with the vertical plate. When the carriage 1 is moved forward, the carriage travels along the vertical plate and the wire 17 moves along the weld line. The fillet welding of the welding line is automatically executed until the carriage stops traveling upon contact of a limit switch 14 with the vertical plate 19. |
