<p>PURPOSE: To quickly and accurately carry out the trimming working of both ends of a tubular article provided with outward flanges by providing a punch that is movable with regard to a segment-type dies mold positioned in the axial direction and is cooperated therewith. CONSTITUTION: A tubular article is supplied to a work station that is brought into line with the axial direction of a punch 35 in the state the punch 35 is retracted, and is held by a holder. Then, respective dies-type segments 41, 42 are set under the action of a cam, and the cylindrical inside surface 80 on the segments 41, 42 is brought into slide contact with the outside surface 81 of a punch head 35. In this stage, there is a gap between the tightening ring 52 and the dies-type segments 41, 42 in the axial direction. Then, after both dies molds are closed, the punch 35 of a first punch assembly is advanced by the action of a cam, and the ring-shaped nose part 54 of the tightening ring 52 is engaged with the groove on the dies mold, and the end part of an article with the flange is subjected to trimming by the cooperating action of the cutting edge 39 of the punch 35 and the cutting edge 40 of the segments 41, 42.</p> |
