PURPOSE:To reduce a load on a host processor, by performing direct data transfer between a transmission/reception buffer area in a two-port memory in a communication processor and a user data area in the host processor by controlling the communication processor. CONSTITUTION:In a case of transmission, when a user process 11 requests data transmission, communication software 8 on the host processor issues the instruction of data transfer to the communication processor 1. The communication processor 1 replying to the above instruction secures a buffer area 13 on the two-port memory 1-4, and transfers data from a user area 14. The communication software 8 on the host processor receiving the information of the data transfer from the communication processor 1, after performing the protocol processing of a hierarchy in charge, prepares a command on a communication area, then, requests frame transmission to the communication processor 1. Replying to the above request, the communication processor 1 performs the protocol processing of the hierarchy in charge, and transmits a frame to a transmission path. |
