<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinked hyaluronic acid causing no affect to biological compatibility due to modification of the molecular structure of the hyaluronic acid, having practical stability and priority in quality control and usable in a biologically compatible material field. <P>SOLUTION: The crosslinked hyaluronic acid is characterized (1) in that the carboxy group of the hyaluronic acid is crosslinked to the hydroxy group of the same hyaluronic acid molecule and/or another hyaluronic acid molecule via an ester bond and (2) in that the carboxy group of the hyaluronic acid is crosslinked to a primary hydroxy group at the sixth position of an N-acetyl- D-glucosamine unit of the same hyaluronic acid molecule and/or another hyaluronic acid molecule via the ester bond. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
