<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a large and thin display, especially represented by a plasma display, is widely used recently, but the center speaker cannot be arranged on the plasma display because it is thin, and, in the case of a rear projection television capable of obtaining a picture of a large screen at a relatively low cost, a speaker cannot be arranged at the lower center of the screen because an optical system for projecting the picture on the display is largely occupied in the lower part of the screen. <P>SOLUTION: Speaker devices for an L-channel and an R-channel are respectively provided with at least a first and a second speaker units. The first speaker unit reproduces difference signals between the L-channel signals and R-channel signals.
