<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make disposing of perlite at low-cost and suitable for environmental conservation as much as possible by mixing perlite with water which does not contain binders substantially or perfectly and, subsequently, compressing the mixture. SOLUTION: The perlite is sucked from a supply source Q by a blower G and supplied into a mixing chamber M of dustproof structure via a conduit 1 by air-flow transportation. Separately, the water which does not contain binders substantially or perfectly is supplied into the mixing chamber M and is mixed with the perlite. The mixture 3 is conveyed to a compressing chamber P by a screw conveyer F and then compressed by a compressor, whereby the perlite absorbing the water is press-formed into a dustfree compressed lump whose volume is reduced to about a third to a fifth of the original volume. As a result, the cost of dust treatment and disposal is drastically reduced and the effective environmental conservation is ensured.</p> |
