Mobile end loading ramp for railway wagon

The mobile ramp (1) is used to gain access to the end of eg. a rail vehicle (2) for loading and unloading. The ramp has two closely-spaced pairs of road wheels with pneumatic tyres (5), and there are feet (6B) on extending legs (40) to stabilise the frame (4) of the ramp and lift the wheels off the ground when it is being used. The frame carries a sloping ramp surface (10) and a tow-bar (7) and a tow hitch (9) extend forward of the lower end of this surface to enable the ramp to be towed by a goods vehicle. Movable extension ramps (20) are hinged to the lower end of the fixed ramp so that they may be hinged over it for transport and hinged down so that their ends (23) rest on the ground when the ramp is in use. Plates (30B) extend over the buffers of the wagon.
