PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform focus detection by reducing the influence of an optical vignetting when the focus detection is performed off the center of an optical axis. SOLUTION: A pupil splitting means 3 is provided which is arranged in the optical path between a photography optical system 20 and a photoelectric converting means 4 or in the optical path in the photography optical system 20 and has at least three apertures differing in gravity center position from one another, selects at least one of the three apertures as a 1st aperture and at least one aperture differing in gravity center position from the 1st aperture as a 2nd aperture, and opens and closes the 1st and 2nd apertures on a time- division basis to luminous flux, and a focus detecting means (arithmetic control means 5) is provided which detects the focus state of the photography optical system 20 according to an image signal based upon an image of a subject formed on the photoelectric converting means 4. |
