PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reorganize product distribution by making a smart card a medium for license information and to facilitate user management and user support service. SOLUTION: An empty license database is automatically produced for license management at the time of installing software distributed for the purpose of sales. To use the software, license information recorded on a smart card is written to the license database, needed license is requested when the software is started and when it exists, the software can be activated. The license information is recorded on the smart cart having a CPU that physically makes duplication impossible and the information is eliminated after it is introduced so that it can not be used again illegally. A cryptographic key that is unique in the world is produced for the license database at the time of installation and its illegal sue due to copying the whole including the license database is also prevented by enciphering the license database with the cryptographic key. |
