The padded seat cushion has a cushion support which is flat and of rigid shape whereby the surface spanned by the support corresponds to the surface of the seat which is to be padded. At least one part of the padding protrudes over at least two outside edges of the support to form fastening flaps which each have a fastener to fix with a corresponding counter piece on the underneath or back of the seat. Touch and close fasteners can be used as fixing means.
