The cylinder (1) of a rotary printing machine, particularly a form or transmission cylinder, is located by its pins (2,3) in side walls (6,7). On the first pin (2) a drive (8) engages and the cylinder is releasable on the side of the second pin (3), in that a structural unit at a dividing point is can be moved away from the cylinder. The structural unit at the dividing point is connectable with the cylinder by means of a screw body (18), whereby during a screw movement produced by the driven cylinder a blocking device (20) can be applied to the screw body. The second pin can be moved away from the cylinder.
