<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing method capable of easily obtaining optional CMYK data from RGB data input without using expensive hardware, and a data processor. <P>SOLUTION: The parameters of a UCR processing and a TRC processing used in the appearance list of YMCK are fixed (200, 202), RGB data corresponding to CMYK data are decided by a complementary color processing without changing the parameters in the case of K=0 (204, 206), a patch list required for parameter change is prepared when it is not K=0 (204, 208) and the parameters of the UCR processing and the TRC processing are made to be in common for the ones that the minimum value of YMC and a K value are the same and the reproduction pattern of YMC data are the same.
