<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can prevent an unevenness of discharge resulting from cleaning. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming part 1 of an electrostatic copying machine as an image forming device, a transfer separating charger 5 has a discharge wire 12 for corona discharge, a power circuit 60 which applies a discharging voltage to the discharge wire 12, a cleaner 24 for cleaning the discharge wire 12, a driving mechanism 61 including an electric motor 26 reciprocally driving the cleaner 24, etc., and a control part 30 which controls operations of those parts 60 and 61. The control part 30 cleans the discharge wire 12 with the cleaner 24 by driving the driving mechanism 61 in a cleaning mode wherein the discharge wire 12 is cleaned for the 1st time after the power circuit 60 has applied the discharging voltage to the discharge wire 12 for a specified time. The unevenness of discharge caused by the cleaning of the discharge wire 12 can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
