PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote support system and method for remotely supporting an excavating propulsion machine that enable providing from a remote place the support for the excavating propulsion machine used in non-open-cut method, and a storage medium for storing a remote support program for performing the method. SOLUTION: At a construction site 10 where excavation is performed using an excavating propulsion machine, this system has an operating means for operating the excavating propulsion machine, and an excavation information acquisition means by which the excavating condition of the excavating propulsion machine performing excavation under control of the operating means is acquired as excavation information. At a support center 30 connected to the construction site via a public telephone line, the system has a data storage means in which the excavation information related to the excavating propulsion machine and support information are stored in a manner that enables those pieces of information to match, and an excavation support means which supports excavating work by consulting the data stored on the data storage means and judging the excavating condition at the construction site when the excavation information is obtained from the excavation information acquisition means via the public telephone line.
