PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a height adjusting device that can shortly return to a normal height suitable for travel even if an unladen state suddenly shifts to a heavily laden state. SOLUTION: The height adjusting device for a transportation vehicle equipped with an air suspension arranges, independently of a height adjusting air line (a main air line 12 and a sub air line 13), a bypass line 23 for leading working air from an air tank 11 to an air bellows 10 via a pressure regulating valve 24 so that a supply of working air through the height adjusting air line brings the air bellows 10 at a set pressure higher than an initial pressure creating a maximal height in an unladen state. During an unladen wait for cargo loading, the air bellows 10 is replenished with working air via the bypass line 23, so that the pressure of the air bellows 10 is elevated in advance.
