PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vise that can ensure quick and easy replacement of a cap and can protect an article clamped between two caps against damage such as a gall from contact with an opening edge region of a hole opening in a clamping face of the caps. SOLUTION: A cylindrical periphery 44 of a first engaging member 38 disposed in either of at least one cap 32 and a device body 10 is projected into an engaging recess 41 formed in the other of the two, so that the cylindrical periphery 44 is engaged with an inner surface of the engaging recess 41. A second engaging member 42 is threaded into a tapped hole 62, so that a V-shaped tip portion 64 of the second engaging member 42 is projected into the engaging recess 41 and is engaged with an inner surface of a V groove 50 in the cylindrical periphery 44 of the first engaging member 38 projected into the engaging recess 41. The at least one cap 32 is thus fixed to the device body 10 while blocked from moving in a direction of opposition to the other cap 32 and in the perpendicular direction.
