PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately separate smaller-diameter medals with the outer diameter less than the specified dimension to be ejected from medal paths concerning a metal selector used for game machines such as slot machines. SOLUTION: The medal selector 40 is provided with a medal path 50 so inclined downward that medals fed through a medal slot 32 roll thereon, lower and upper side plates 51 and 52 which face each other being separated at such a distance as to allow the passage of the medals across the thickness thereof sandwiching the medal path 50 while being inclined across the thickness of the medals and a drop hole 63 which is formed in the lower side plate 51 at the height thereof from a bottom part 53 of the medal path 50 less than the diameter of the medal with the specified outer diameter to let the small-diameter medals with the outer diameter thereof less than the specified outer diameter drop outside the medal path 50. The upper side plate 52 is provided with a protrusion 91 projecting into the medal path 50 toward the drop hole 63.
