PURPOSE: Provided are a device for controlling a garbage disposer and a method therefor which warn malfunction state of the garbage disposer with various warning sounds and voice messages to prevent performance down of the garbage disposer due to the malfunction. CONSTITUTION: In a garbage disposer consisting of a main body having an input cover, an air inlet and a fan, a fermentation tank formed on the inner part of the main body to treat input garbage, an agitator agitating the input garbage with a fermenting agent and a heater keeping the inner temperature of the fermenting tank appropriate, the device for controlling the garbage disposer comprises a detecting part(10) having a cover detection part(11) detecting whether the input cover is opened or closed, a motion state detection part(12) detecting the motion state of each device, a temperature detection part(13) detecting the inner temperature of the fermentation tank, a moisture detection part(14) detecting the inner moisture of the fermentation tank and a dust detection part(15) detecting the dust amount generating when inhaling or ventilating, a control part(20) keeping the inner temperature of the fermentation tank appropriate by comparing and analyzing signals generated from the detecting part and outputting control signals for outputting each different warning sound and voice message when each device is malfunctioning, a driving part(30) having a heater driving part(31) switching on and off the heater according to the signal generated from the control part, an agitator driving part(32) operating the agitator according to the signal generated from the control part and a fan driving part(33) switching on and off the fan according to the signal generated from the control part and a warning part(40) generating each different warning sound or a voice message according to the control signal generated from the control part.
