<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve on the properties and durability of a zinc oxide film for use as a light confining layer in a photovoltaic element, and to make the zinc oxide film formable at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: In this zinc oxide film, a plurality of structures on the surface are protrusions each having a first face and second face meeting each other along one curved line.
