Metallurgical vessel (6) for transport and handling of molten melts, especially steel melts, comprising a base element with a base carrier, including a tubular lower part, and a tubular center part connected to a carrier consisting of two pivots. The center part (5) is cylindrical with a ratio of height to mean vessel diameter of 1.0-1.2. Provision is made for optimization in relation to the maximum full volume of the vessel combined with the smallest possible net weight.
