A video device for guiding customized information and a control method thereof are provided to set simple information confirmation so as to be suitable to a request of a user and enable a user to confirm desired information through simple operation, thereby significantly improving convenience of the video device user. A video device(301) for guiding customized information comprises the followings: an input unit(316) which supplies the first signal for setting specific data broadcasting information and function items so as to be displayed; a memory(315) storing the first signal which is set in the above step; and a controller(314) which displays the specific data broadcasting information and function items according to the first signal stored in the memory(315) if the second signal of a command, for displaying the specific data broadcasting information and function items, is inputted through the input unit(316).
