ROUTER AND ROUTING NETWORK

The invention concerns a routing network wherein the input/output ports of each router are cyclically arranged in a specific direction, each router comprising means for identifying in an incident packet a routing instruction indicating a cyclic offset between the input port and the desired output port; and means for returning the packet by eliminating said offset in the routing instruction and by inserting therein the difference between the arity of the router and said offset.
