The heating system (1) has a heat exchanger (3) that is electrically heatable up to power of 2. 0 kilowatt, and a shut-off device (10) provided on a return pipe (7). Other shut-off devices are provided on a pipe guided to the piping system of a central heating system such that a water circulation exists and flows through all components of the auxiliary heating system and the central heating system, when the latter shut-off devices are opened. A stop unit is inserted in a return pipe, which is connected with a flow pipe.
